Back from vacation!

I am back from vacation....sort of....I am home, but not quite 'back' if you know what I mean. Staying in a cabin in a remote part of Maine for a week really brings the relaxation level up a notch. Takes a few days to get back in the groove...

At least tonight I have access to the internet, good lighting, a shower, cable TV. I showered for about 40 minutes this afternoon. YUP - lathered, rinsed, repeated. Three loads of laundry later, I have almost finished unpacking. Various items to be returned to their rightful owners, who came for day trips throughout the week.

Was great to finally get to see and feel the sun. We have had a serious lack of the yellow shiny stuff since May here in NH.

I am off to bed, will try to be back with some Stampin' news tomorrow -

I love the Fourth of July! Ever since I was a kid it has been one of my favorite holidays - maybe because it falls during the lazy hazy days of summer or maybe because (for the most part, anyway) it signals the beginning of our very short 8 week summer here in NH.

My neighbors are shooting off some loud, not very colorful fireworks and I am cleaning house (but not so diligently that I can't post!) so I can chill out tomorrow and get ready for some vacation time.

I kind of felt like Paul Revere typing that, shouting out the news that the new SU! catalog is here!

School's out...for the summer

Finally, the last day of shool. Yes, late here in NH. I think there were too many snow days this year.

Relief for the kiddies and time for moms to find lots of activities to keep those kids happy. If you are interested in a kids stamp camp/class, drop a line. I have lots of fun projects that are little kid friendly.

kickin' it in gear!

For a while now, my husband and I have been working on creating a stamping space for me in the basement. Finally, putting on the finishing coats of paint...( the color is 'Honeydew', a fresh, bright green) Personally I think he just wants the kitchen and dining room tables back!

So once my space is done, I will have plenty of room to see all my STUFF and to work on layouts and class projects. Because of the comfort level, I'll probably still have clubs and classes upstairs, but my family will not have to deal with all my bits and pieces laying about for a week beforehand, and a week after! lol

Come back often, as I will be adding class listings and posting samples, very soon!

Tomorrow I am off to a lacrosse tournament with my daughter, her teams games start at 4 pm and finish at 8 pm. And it is an hour away.....It will be a long day, but I do love to watch, it is so fast paced.

Ahhhh, Friday. Best day of the week in my mind....

Was heading to bed and realized tomorrow is June 12. June is almost halfway over, which means we are that much closer to the July 1st release of the SU! 09-10 catalog.

Hey, I'm back. Funny how that happens, I just show up at random times.....

Did not browse/slobber on my new catalog today, but thought I'd come back to share some thoughts about the stamp sets, like I promised.

There is something for everyone in this new catalog! Fun and furry, cute and sassy, elegant line drawings for coloring. Some great new sentiment sets too, fresh and up to date. Some offerings have been completely re-vamped, you will have a clue if you have checked out the Last Chance Stamp list. Lots of old favorites staying around too, like Lovely as a Tree.

There is always a lot of speculation among demos before the Last Chance list comes out, friendly contests to guess the most sets that will only be available for a short while longer. Lovely as a Tree, Sincere Salutations, and Curvy Verses were all on the chopping block, in most demos minds, but these perennial favorites survived for another catalog period.

OH, the holiday selection! Can't even believe I didn't mention that! Lots of bee-u-tee-full holiday stamps, ranging from elegant to just plain cute. You will surely find something to love in this catalog.

New Catalog!

So I have been sitting on the news that I have my demo copy of the new 2009-2010 Idea Book and catalog. Wanted to relish it all by myself for a few days.

I do love the new In Colors, they are all over the place in retail stores, magazine layouts, etc. When SU! introduce the concept of "In Colors" a few years ago, I admit I was skeptical and wondered if it really mattered. Well, I can tell you it does. The fresh, up to date colors add a whole new dimension and vitality to 'old' stamp sets.

Someday I will have my photo taking and posting abilities on the same wave length and have some pictures to share.

For now, I guess you have to take my word for it!

I'll be back soon with thoughts on new stamp sets. No, I can't show you, can't even name names, but I can tell you what I think.....
